About me

I was raised in Brooklyn, one of five children. From head-start to high school, I was in a Jewish day school with a dual curriculum. After high school, I studied at Brooklyn College, where I focused on a double Bachelor of Arts in psychology and fine arts. I worked at Lamplighters Yeshivah, a Montessori day school. I helped children regulate their behaviors and prepared curriculum materials. Afterward, I worked as human resources staff at a bookkeeping firm. In 2020, I moved to Astoria, graduated with my BA, and soon after I began my master’s degree in Experimental Psychology at Brooklyn College, which I will finish in May 2022. In August 2022, I will be moving to Ohio to begin my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.

I cared for my siblings and many cousins from an early age. I started a long-term relationship as one family’s sitter. They had two girls, who I watched from 2 years and 10 months through 7-8 years of age. They since had more children, and when the youngest was born, I was his night nanny for six weeks. For two summers, I was a mother’s helper for a camp director’s 2- and 4-year-old daughters. I volunteered for a disability inclusion organization, where I visited a girl on the autism spectrum. In my job at Lamplighters, I helped kids work through academic and behavioral challenges. Over COVID, I helped one boy with ADHD acclimate to his remote learning.

From February to August 2021, I nannied for a family with three young kids, focusing on education, recreation, and needs. When their childcare needs were reduced, I began working with two school-aged children in an after-school capacity, and my contract will be ending this June. My experience ranges from newborn to adult, from basic needs such as diaper-changing to creative and educational pursuits such as developing skills and teaching subjects.

I see my life’s purpose in helping children continue to develop and overcome hurdles. My experience has shaped me into someone who is calm and patient. As an aspiring psychologist, I am aware that childhood years are the most formative years of a person’s life, so it is my duty to ensure that children are always safe, happy, and reaching their potential.
