About me

I grew up in Palatine, IL. I have a sister who is 8 and a half years older than me so I always have looked up to her. I graduated Palatine High School and attended Harper College for a year. I was always interested in nursing and one day received a letter from Northern Illinois University (NIU) stating I was accepted into their nursing program. I decided to transfer to NIU to pursue this passion. I finished my prerequisites and started the program in the spring of 2020. I plan to receive my BSN in 2022. I always knew I wanted to work hands on with children and help in some kind of way. Growing up, my mind switched from many careers until I decided on nursing.

I have babysat kids since I was about 13 and it’s the most rewarding feeling building a connection with them. I have received so much experience working with kids for so long and it taught me a great amount of patience and compassion. I want these children to know that I am genuinely present and there for them. I have worked with children for about 8 years now. I have watched children of all ages from newborn to 12 years old. As a babysitter of a newborn, my responsibilities were changing diapers, feeding on a strict schedule, and engagement in small forms of play. For toddler to elementary school ages, I would read, play, prepare lunches, and drive children to their activities. Throughout my years of experience, I have been a babysitter, a nanny, a caretaker and a preschool teacher through my high school’s program.

A special skill I possess is speaking fluently in both English and Polish. I gained experience with special needs children along the way, too. I am AED/CPR certified and I am a CNA. With all of these capabilities, it has brought me to love working with kids.
I am an outgoing, genuine person. I consider myself very active and playful. I know it’s significant to steer children away from technology so engaging in other forms of play is something that I try and incorporate with them. And because I have watched children all these years, it has inspired me to want to become a pediatric nurse so I know that this field is going to be a perfect fit for what is near and dear to my heart.
