About me

I grew up in Chicago, IL as the second oldest child among the siblings in my house. I am actually the youngest daughter out of 12 kids. As a child I really enjoyed being surrounded by my family and reading anatomy books. Because I loved anatomy so much as a kid, I ended up enrolling in the EMT program at Malcolm X community college. While there, I maintained a 3.4 GPA. Towards the end of my college career, I realized that what I loved more than anatomy is being able to teach and influence the lives of young children. During my last semester at Malcolm X, I became pregnant and was labeled high risk. I ended up having to drop a few classes so it wouldn’t effect my health and child’s health. Due to this I am only 6 credits short of receiving my associates degree. I plan on going back to school but pursuing a different degree. Within the past few years, I have been nannying and learning whatever I can to be a better nanny and person in general. I think this all plays a major role in why I am so passionate about becoming a nanny. Me having such a big family has made me strong willed, motivated and family oriented.
As the youngest daughter of 12 kids, I was born an auntie. I started babysitting at the age of 13. Although it was not a paid position, I enjoyed and always wanted more responsibility. Since I still had school, I was only babysitting my nieces and nephews part time, with their ages ranging from 2-7years old. Since then I have been babysitting on and off. I took a break from babysitting in college but afterwards I picked It right back up. I volunteered at a preschool for about a year helping them with different things throughout the day. I have experience working with newborns all the way up to 9- 10yrs Old. Some of my responsibilities included meal prep, homework help, light housekeeping, diaper changes, bath time , etc. I also have experience working with kids with ADHD and autism.
I really love to learn! Learning something new has always been a joy to me. What’s even better than learning something new is being able to pass that knowledge on to someone else.
