About me

I grew up in a military family- my dad was a Special Forces surgeon and was frequently stationed around the world. I was part of a large family- with three older siblings, and three younger siblings who I helped raise. Throughout my life, I have been active in the arts, and in college I studied art, performing, and communications. After college, I worked as an actor, for nanny/babysitting agencies, and as an English teacher in South Korea.

As a member of a large family, I helped raise my younger siblings, and have been babysitting since age nine, when I got a certificate from a babysitting course. I have also worked in three daycares (ages 4 months to 10 years) and babysat for a variety of families. In high school (in addition to babysitting), I coached three youth soccer teams, and volunteered as a Spanish language tutor. During college, I continued to babysit, volunteered for the Boys and Girls Club, worked as a lifeguard/camp counselor, and volunteered as an English tutor while studying abroad in Italy. I also worked as a summer nanny for two 9-year-old girls. After college, I continued to babysit for various families, worked as a nanny for a 10-month-old boy, and taught English in South Korea to children ages 7-12.

I have many, many years of experience working with children, and have always been inspired by their imaginations, creativity, playfulness, and curiosity. As an artist, I especially spending time with free spirits, and I enjoy guiding children to use their imaginations for their benefit. I believe that children are wonderful, malleable, and endearing members of society who deserve our full attention and guidance. I look forward to my next position in childcare and using my skills to aid children in maturing.
