About me

I grew up in New York City. I am one of five children. Throughout my childhood, I adored having my sister's friends come over because I would create carnivals, games, and themed parties whenever the opportunity arose. With two working parents, I took my sister to the park, taught her how to ride a bicycle, and doted on her like a mother.

I attended summer camp and ultimately became a counselor so that I could witness the pure joy of children being independent, trying new activities, and making ever-lasting friendships while away from home. Teaching sports at camp and mentoring kids was rewarding. As a natural progression, I continued to assist families by babysitting and playing sports with kids throughout college and graduate school. I have worked part-time for two different families with five children. I have been responsible for making bottles, cooking, researching and planning activities, driving to early morning ice hockey practices, and playing eighteen holes of golf with an 8-year old superstar. Recently, I have been assisting families with driving children to school and activities. I am on call for zoom tutoring help as well.

I had a wonderful career as an educational toy buyer and developer. I worked closely with the education department of a major museum. I love using New York City as my playground, but I am just as comfortable navigating the hiking trails throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond. My biggest thrill comes from conversing with children and understanding things from their perspective. It is our job as adults to let children express themselves and develop into confident, kind and caring individuals.
