About me

I have lived in the Eastchester/Scarsdale area all my life. I have a twin brother and younger brother who is eleven years old. I enjoy being an older sister to my youngest brother and my adorable dog Lulu! Some of my greatest memories from my childhood are trips to Italy visiting family. I graduated from Eastchester High School in 2018. I am currently a Junior at Hunter College with a double major in Sociology and Childhood Education as well as a minor in Italian.

My passion for working with children while providing care and nurturing support is something I feel comes naturally for me. My previous work experience includes childcare and working in a pediatric office. I have been working with children from newborn to age 11 for the last five years. I have provided childcare services for three families, one with children beginning at ages 4 and 6, one age 5, and another with a newborn and 2 year old. Duties for the older children vary from walking the children home from school, assisting with homework, lunch/dinner, following their daily/nightly routines, driving and supervising the children while at sports practices. For the newborn to toddler aged children duties included diaper changes, bottle feeding/regular feeding, bathing, potty-training, driving to playdates, and following bed-time routines. I have also held a part-time position in a pediatric office as an administrative and medical assistant. In this position, I gained experience with children in a medical setting.

Throughout these different experiences in childcare I have learned that I truly enjoy the rewarding aspect of working with children. I feel as though these experiences have made me grow and understand that a child can make an impact as much as their caretaker. I believe it is important that children are surrounded by people they can look up to as a role model. Patience, understanding, and compassion are also very important traits I feel come naturally whenever I am around children. As a caregiver, I give a lot of thought to my role and always strive to make a difference as I know we play a critical part of setting an example in a child’s life.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A childhood education teacher! I hope to become a future teacher to not only be a role-model for my future students, but to inspire them in many ways! My ultimate goal is to create a safe, fun & loving learning environment for my students and to be someone they can always come to and look up to!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

As I grew up spending lots of time outdoors and playing sports for fun, I hope to share these experiences with others! I also love to cook and bake and hope to share some of my recipes! Other fun activities I enjoy teaching and sharing are playing board games, crafts, and learning all about animals.
