About me
I grew up in Greenwich Connecticut and from a young age I knew that I wanted a career that was nurturing, as well as creative. I helped to take care of my youngest sister, she came when I was 7 and I learned how to change diapers, prepare food, and encourage all the important milestones.
I moved to Los Angeles and graduated from college with a degree in French and Theater, and after I studied improvisational comedy at the Groundlings. While enrolled in the groundlings, I nannied for countless children and families. I used so much of what I learned about improv with kids, it encourages pretend play and can also provide insight to how they are feeling. Creating a play space helped the kids feel safe enough to really explore their own emotions. I have worked with children of all ages, as well as children struggling with different mental/learning disabilities. This includes autism, ADHD, PTSD, dyslexia, deaf, and developmentally delayed children. I also have studied Montessori education.
I have been working with children for over 15 years, and I have learned so much from every unique family I have worked with. I have traveled and vacationed with families, as well as lived in. The most recent families I worked with attended the Rudolph Steiner school, and I have adopted many of their philosophies and learned so many wonderful crafts and games. They believe in limited to no screen time, and encourage outdoor play whenever possible. I find that this fosters a ton of creativity.
