About me

I grew up in the suburbs with my Mom, Dad, and older sister. They have all worked with children as Teachers in Arts and Music, and have served as such a valuable example for me of how to enrich a child's life. I graduated with honors from Wagner College with a BA in Theatre. Since graduating I have been pursing a career in performing and enriching children's lives through the arts. I have toured nationally and internationally performing in the Wizard of Oz, and taught dance for children ages 6 -18. My experience in an artistic and educational setting has helped me become the kind, compassionate and engaging child care provider I am today. I like to say the skills of a performer, teacher, and babysitter are one and the same: improvisation, creativity, communication, and empathy.
I have 9 years experience with kids ranging from 6 months - 12 years. I have held positions such as part - time babysitter, date night sitter, teacher, and even virtual babysitter! Through out high school I had various date night sitter positions, and choreographed for a Children's Theatre Program grades 3 - 6. Since graduating, I have worked in three long term positions. A family of 3 children (ages 3, 6, and 8). Responsibilities included picking up after school, taking children to extracurricular activities, preparing and serving dinner, homework help, meal prepping lunches, facilitating play time, and putting the children to bed. I also worked for a family with 2 children (ages 6 and 8). Duties included picking up after school, taking children to extracurricular activities, taking public transportation with children, preparing and serving dinner, giving baths, and facilitating play time. My current family is one child (age 5). She is high functioning on the autistic spectrum .
I believe my calling in life is to make people happy. That's why I am drawn to creativity in my professional life - it is a way for me to bring happiness to others while doing what I love. It is for that reason that I am drawn to child care. I believe every moment spent with a child is a moment you can bring happiness to that child. And seeing a smile on a child's face is the best reward I could ask for.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

still pursuing my two passions in life: performing and working with children. My biggest dream is to teach dance and theatre to kids during the day, and perform in musicals at night.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

any and all things creative! I've seen the power and positive impact the arts and exploring ones creativity had on my own life, and there's nothing that brings me more joy than sharing that with a child. I love teaching dance, singing songs, telling and making up stories, making home made crafts, and cooking healthy and delicious treats!
