About me

Hi, I am from a small, hot town 4 hours from Bogota, Colombia. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. As a child I enjoyed playing with other children, on the streets, going swimming in the rivers and pools, playing with balls, toys, little stones, grabbing fruits from the trees, and always enjoying the simple things of life. As a child, I was very happy. I had a very lovely and present mother, who took excellent care of us. We moved to Bogota, the capital and in high school, and for my technical and associates degree, I studied Business Administration. I worked a long time in a Bank and then I came to the United States 23 years ago. Since then, I have worked mostly as a nanny.
During all my life I was surrounded by children helping my mother to raise my little brothers, nieces, nephews, etc., skills that I have applied to my extensive childcare experience. It's very important to me to transfer to the kids all the values, principles and respect and happiness with which I grew up.
I started my babysitting experience with 2 boys when they were babies, I was in charge of all their routines, changing diapers, making bottles, laundry, taking them to the park and classes and play dates, as they were growing up, I was in charge of their meals, taking them to the school, supervising playdates and classes at home, also playing, reading and creating engaging routines in English and Spanish. After they were school-age kids, I worked as a part-time nanny. I worked also with a 5 and 7-year-old girl and boy, picking them up from school and taking them to after-school classes, gym, ballet, soccer, playgrounds, playdates, etc. as well as following a routine at home, supervising homework, playing, preparing dinner, bathing them and getting them for bed before parents return, I was always focused in performing bilingual (Spanish) tasks. I feel very proud when I see the children I have worked with becoming wonderful human beings. About me: I enjoy being with my friends, walking, swimming, watching tv., and cooking different foods. I enjoy working with children because it is a new experience every day. They are masters of love, wisdom, patience, kindness, innocence, and hope. I feel very happy when I am providing a little help through these wonderful children to make the world a better place to live.
