About me

My name is Shenique, I am 23 years, and I’m currently attending porter and Chester institute of stratford to get my certification as an LPN then further my education to become a RN and work in the NICU as I aspire to be a neo natal nurse. I graduated high school in 2015, I have 3 nieces and 1 nephew I have been looking after them ever since I graduated, and from there I got my first nanny position in 2015 which I still babysit for them here and there. I have been working witch children since about the age 17. I have been a teachers aide for the past 4 years and I am looking for a part time position starting as possible. A little bit of my history: I was a teacher aide at Head Start for 1 year and i absoultely loved the experience, I worked with the age group 3-4 year olds and some of my duties were diapering and toileting as some children may be transitioning from pull ups to underwear. I would also assist with helping the kids eat, and put them down for nap time. I also worked for Bridgeport hospital daycare for about a year and a couple months as a teachers assistant in the toddler room. It was a memorable experience because kids at the age are full of energy and I love keeping up with them everyday it’s something new. I’ve also babysat for previous families in the Westport & Bridgeport area. A little bit more about me, I’m very adventurous I love to go on hikes/walks I love to travel. I love the water I took swimming lessons as a child. I love to build a strong bond with kids that I get to interact with, not only should they look up to me as their nanny, but I want them to also feel like I’m their friend. On a Saturday or Sunday evening watching movies on Netflix with a cup of hot chocolate with a slice a pizza is something I like to do as well!
I am CPR/FirstAide certified, First aid, Epi Pen certified, a non-smoker as well as have a clean driving record with my own car. I look toward to to meeting you and your kids!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Children learn through play. Play is very important to a child's development, it is an inclusive part of a child's early years stage and supports their learning journey too. Young children can develop many skills through the power of play. They may develop their language skills, emotions, creativity and social skills. Through play they can learn essential skills such as problem solving, working with others, sharing and a lot more. I also love to teach children to be creative through whatever it is their doing if it’s art or even a project for school.
