About me

I grew up in Southern California and have been in New York for the past 5 years. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a BFA in Acting/Musical theatre, I moved to the city and worked professionally as an actor. I have also been nannying in New York City for about 5 years as well. I am currently a personal trainer at Equinox.

I have over 8 years of childcare experience and 5 years of mannying in private homes including children with special needs. I have also done volunteer work in public schools around my neighborhood helping elementary school children learn how to read. I offer loving care while making sure to meet disciplinary/educational goals for each child. I am adept at organizing children’s daily schedules, including meals, school, and recreational activities. In both my previous positions the child’s grades improved and behavior improved because of my work with them. It has been a great privilege to be a strong role model for these kids and watch them do better in school, form stronger social connections, and become more confident in who they are.

In last position I took care of middle school aged boy in the Upper West side. We went to laser tag, book stores, museums, and his favorite, the Bronx zoo. I also helped him with homework and reading. He has ADHD and a learning processing disorder. Because of his learning disabilities, he required patience and understanding. Focusing on his reading was key as well as helping him find confidence in socially engaging with other kids. His parents also trusted me to take him on trips during his spring breaks. We have been to the nation's capital, took a tour around the Grand Canyon, and most recently explored animals and Mayan ruins in the jungles of Mexico. I also help coordinate his schedule with the family's assistant. Through my work with him I have seen him become more verbal, initiating conversations and positively interacting more with his peers at school.

I take great pride and responsibility in my work with children. Seeing them succeed and finding happiness has been the most fulfilling work I have done.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I know endless theatre games that are extremely fun and promote team building. As painter myself, I enjoy guiding children in creating their own masterpeices. In the past I have led an activity where children listen to all different genres of music (classical, rock, pop, movie soundtrack) and have them draw how that song/piece of music makes them feel or think. As a swimmer for 15 years of my childhood, I enjoy being in the water and love teaching kids to swim safer and more efficient.
