About me

I spent the majority of my childhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina and continued on to my young adult stages as well as adult hood on the upper east side of New York. I have always been an outdoor person, I enjoyed being in the sunshine, riding horses, swimming, playing sports, and creating music as well as musical activities. Living in South American was truly one of the best experiences I ever had, the culture and beauty has not been matched since I left. I have spent a lot of time traveling overseas, which I LOVE. I attended school here in NYC (LaGuardia HS of the Performing Arts for voice) as well as in Colorado, which was a wonderful experience as I was able to do sports that would never be considered a sport in any UES school (snowboarding, mountain biking and kayaking). Boarding school was a great experience that I truly flourished in. I’ve always been very independent and this was the perfect place for me.

After high school, I attended a specialized school for Information Technology. I learned everything about network security, network infrastructure and network building. I am certified by CISCO systems as well as Security +. I ended up working for a small IT company in the garment district until the recession of 2008. I spent a lot of time searching for something I could do, and before I knew it, I rediscovered the nanny world and did not look back!

I have experience with children from the age of 6 months to pre-teen. Once in, I started working with a family of three. The father was a percussionist and the mama, at the time, was a sculpture artist. Their daughter was around 2 when I began. I took a lot of care to prepare health conscious and fun food for her lunches and dinners as well as provided nutritious snacks. We focused a lot on interactive and hands on play, with puzzles and music. I would also be there for nap time! We spent a lot of time outside, going on long walks in Central Park, having picnics and just enjoying each other. We spent a lot of time reading all kinds of fun books, we also did a lot of arts and crafts. I was with them for two lovely years, once she was old enough to be in school/pre-k, the family was able to accommodate that new schedule she had.

My second family was also a family of three, two lovely girls, one was 2 when I began and the other 6.5. This particular position was one of my most challenging as I was working hand in hand with an actively traveling/working single mother, which meant my roll was very hands on and extremely present in their lives. My main duties at the beginning was for the baby as I was with her 90% of the day. I made both girls breakfast every morning, we would all take a walk and drop off the older sister at school. I also meal-prepped for the older sibling everyday (lunches). The little one and I spent a lot of time going to museums. We would also go on adventures outside. I would facilitate play dates and any other activities they had. Once the older sibling returned we would all get ready for HW, bath and dinner time. I worked many overnight stays as sometimes the mother would need to travel for longer periods of time. I also accommodated early mornings when needed. I would also transport/travel with both girls to and from Colorado where the father was living at the time and cared for them there during their stay. I was with this lovely family for quite a number of years, as the girls became older and more self sufficient, my hours changed drastically and even though I left the full time employment, we continued working together on and off till 2017.

I then started working with a wonderful family who had a 6-month-old. It would be my first experience with an infant, but they took a chance and it was just dreamy. My hours were 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Friday. Everything baby was my responsibility - feedings, naps, meal prep (with baby steamer), you name it! The baby and I had a nice schedule for our activities, the morning was spent playing with baby instruments, music was a huge part of our day. We would often be on her play mats listening to soundtracks from Disney movies. We would then go to her baby group music classes, spend time at the playground on the swings, and we often went to the library for baby reading time. I also would read and speak in Spanish to her which she seemed to understand and adapt to very easily. I did the potty training on my own as well as witnessed and shared some of her sweet baby milestones, like her being able to stand on her own, take her first steps, and of course bath time was the best time!

Some of my most fun and rewarding experiences have been while I was nannying. I still live in a world that revolves around music and instruments. I’ve always been very nurturing, even as a young child. I’ve always enjoyed being around kids, and loved being reminded of how beautiful and exciting the world is through their eyes! When it comes to some philosophies regarding children, I always have felt that there are so many ways to communicate with a child so they understand, without being abrupt or edgy. Children are resilient and very adaptable, as long they have the right support and love in their corner.

I grew up with a professional concert cellist, which has given me true passion for music and appreciation for the arts, which I like to bring to each family/child I care for. I’m very grateful for the time and experience that I have gained throughout the years I’ve spent being a caregiver. It has prepared me for the future, should I ever want children, I’ll have acquired the tools from all these lovely families! Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my past as well as learn about my experience with littles!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I enjoy teaching them a new language, it is one of the most valuable things you could ever teach a child. I love being artistic so I try and introduce a new way of doing art and being creative. Any little fun bits of fun I have in my repertoire, I love to share with them, depending on the child’s own likes and dislikes!
