About me

I am a recent graduate of Pratt Institute with a degree in communications design. I am very passionate about art, education, and inspiring kids to be their best selves! I have worked with children of all ages. I currently babysit part-time with a family in South Slope, with 3 boys ages 7, 11, and 15. The most recent teaching job I held was working as an art educator at The Handwork Studio, a place where I taught kids ages 5-11 how to knit, sew, and embroider as well as make other fabric crafts. Two summers ago, I worked as a camp counselor at Omega Teen Camp, living in a cabin with 8 teenage girls throughout the summer and co-creating a safe, imaginative community with them. At the same camp, I taught classes such as collage, ceramics, and yoga to teens and really discovered a lot about myself in the process.

I must say that education is something I feel is very important and I like to share my creative skills with others! I am comfortable with setting boundaries and I believe that a structured schedule is vital to cultivating focus in kids (and adults!) I love to work with people in a creative capacity and especially in one-on-one situations. I love watching kids explore their sense of self and strengthen their identity through creative play and conversation. My favorite part of babysitting is intriguing kids with new ideas and getting them to talk about themselves and open up about what makes them excited!
