About me

I grew up in South America with many siblings and attended primary and secondary school there. I graduated from high school with my GED. After graduation, I started in childcare. After about a year and a half, my mother and I moved to Canada to live with my sister and her family. Once there, I went back to school to study banking. After graduating. I worked in a bank for a few years. During my days off, I continued to babysit and take care of children.
My first long-term position in childcare included taking care of 4 children, ages 5, 3, 2, and a newborn. My responsibilities were changing diapers, bathing, feeding, taking for walks in the park, going to the library, and organizing playdates. After a few years I moved to New York with close relatives. My first job there was as a live-in nanny for a family whom I worked with for 4 years. My duties included taking care of a newborn and a 2-year-old while doing light housekeeping. I kept up with communication with the parents throughout the day by sending texts, pictures, and videos! While working with that family, I attended Queens College to further my studies in banking and received updated certification. I also did computer training there. The family I worked for no longer needed my services once their children went to preschool, so I went back into banking for about 10 years. During that time I also provided home care for adults on the weekends and during my time off from banking positions.
I love taking care of people especially newborns to toddlers. I am very passionate about what I do and it gives me great satisfaction to be able to contribute to a child's growth and well-being. As a mom myself, I do understand what it means for parents to be away from their children so I try to keep open communication with parents sending updates throughout the day!
