About me
My name is Zoey Michaels, and I'm a NYU grad, currently living in Brooklyn. I grew up in the Boston area and started teaching acting classes at my local theatre at age 14. I moved to New York in 2013 to pursue a BFA in Acting at NYU. During college, I came back to stage manage for a children's theatre company, as well as teach acting classes to teens ages 14-18. Since graduating, I've worked as a preschool teacher and full time nanny for 3 families, each for one year. When I'm not working with kids, I'm usually drawing, playing guitar, working as a tattoo artist apprentice, and collaborating on artistic projects with friends.
I've worked with children for over a decade, ages ranging from 1.5-13 years. The first family I worked with was a Brooklyn family with three children (4,9, and 13). The second had two children (8 and 11). And most recently and currently I work with two deaf dads who have a set of nine year old twins. Through this job, I immediately started learning ASL (my boss is the CEO of Sign Language Center in Manhattan). I am currently on Level 3.
Children absolutely inspire me, and I love working with them. I gain so much knowledge and insight from the way they look at the world. Although I'm extremely mature and responsible, in many ways I think of myself as a big kid, and I tend to relate to children very easily.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
- Teenagers

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I always love to bring my ukulele or guitar to babysitting as I am a very musical person, and I love to share that joy with others. I'm also a big fan of arts and crafts!
