About me

My mother was a nanny, and I would accompany her on my days off from school and learned the necessary skills essential to being a care giver. I started working as an occasional babysitter for her employers around 2006 up until 2012. The duties entailed were assisting with homework, working on arts and crafts projects, supervising music practice, prepping snacks, and going out. Being and working with children came naturally to me and I loved the girls as if they were my younger sisters. Although the girls are older, we still communicate and hang out from time to time. I am proud to see that they have grown to be beautiful, creative, smart, and successful students and individuals. Commencing in 2014, I started working as a part-time babysitter and nanny and continue to work in this field to date. I have highly enjoyed this career and have acquired many new skills.

For many years, I have worked as a music instructor for families and students ages 5+ and of different backgrounds in Queens and Manhattan. I've also worked as a music instructor in several music schools. My experience includes teaching piano, recorder, flute, and violin at music schools and at home as well as tutoring elementary aged students privately.

While attending college, I obtained jobs related to child-care and instruction that have allowed me to assist young learners in developing a creative mind. The duties entailed within my job as a music instructor provides children with the opportunity to grow mentally and socially through creative endeavors and discipline. I have always been able to share a connection with children at a young age and I attribute that to my ability to engage with them.

It is a pleasure working with children particularly because they are our future. I strongly feel that children need mentors and people who believe in them, their ideas, and their dreams. Although working with children can be quite fun, I also recognize that limits, structure, and rules must be put into place and adhered to in order to ensure their full development and safety.

When working with children, I provide an atmosphere where children can be creative and inquisitive while implementing core values, habits, and skills essential to their development. I am very attentive as I am caring and ensure that they are receiving the best care. As an avid reader and student, I encourage the sharing of knowledge and exchange of ideas. My experience as a music educator and tutor in addition to serving as a volunteer swimming counselor at the YMCA my senior year of high-school and volunteer English instructor in Monterrey, Mexico through the International Youth Foundation has been very rewarding as it has shown me the importance in serving others in order to understand the world better and lead a more fulfilling life.

Children are very curious and open and if you provide them with the essential skills and tools, they are very receptive to them allowing one to serve as a positive influence or role model to further their development into successful young adults and adults. I am always honored to be a part of this transition and would like to continue working with children for this reason.
