About me

I grew up in Nashua, NH, the oldest of two and a very creative and engaged kid! I loved exploring the outdoors, singing, making theater, and creating in general! I moved to NYC in 2013 to attend NYU's acting program. There I engaged with my love of theater and the arts, and was even able to minor in Psychology and engage with my love of childcare! I was nannying throughout and after college, and my two loves came together when I became a member of the Story Pirates theater company, a company that takes stories children have written and turns them into musicals!

I have worked with and learned from a lot of different families over the years, with children ranging from infants to 13 years old. Most recently I was the part-time nanny to a family with an 11 and 13 year old boy and girl. I would pick them up from school, help with homework, and make dinner. Before that I was a nanny to a 4-month-old infant. I worked 9-5 PM, two days a week. I was in charge of feeding him his bottle, changing cloth diapers, putting him down for naps, encouraging play time, and taking him for walks. I helped him transition from liquid to solid foods, an area in which he struggled and needed some extra care. I also had the opportunity to care for my 8 year old cousin for two weeks during this pandemic. My aunt hired me to come do at-home schooling for her, she wanted someone she could trust because my cousin is autistic and legally blind and needed a specific style of care! I was in charge of helping her stick to the school schedule, giving her lunch, and helping direct energy to play whenever she got overstimulated.

My art feeds my childcare passion, and vice versa. No one is as creative as kids are, and no one pushes you to listen and be patient more than a child. I love being able to listen to kids and validate their thoughts and feelings in a way that shows them how valid their experiences are. Being.a babysitter gives you the unique opportunity to be a positive, joyful influence on a child's life during their very important developmental years, and it's an opportunity I always cherish!
