About me

I grew up between New York and North Carolina. I've always had a love for children. I have 4 younger sisters who I used to play dress up with and play games with outside when we were younger. I started my journey in healthcare and worked one summer at Jacobi Hospital after attending a vocational high school, where I selected Nursing as my specific field. I worked in the newborn nursery, as well as the pediatric floor, and was always so attached to the sweet babies. It was there that I learned that mothers need help and attention too.
Once I graduated, I moved on to try other fields like advertising, though I was always pulled back to healthcare as I've always wanted to help people. My real passion is helping mothers and children. I was able to work in an OBGYN office once and afterwards was given a job working at a childcare facility. I was so happy there! Working at a childcare facility was amazing and I was responsible for the after-school classes with older children. I was also responsible for covering earlier classes which included children whose ages ranged from infant to 4 years old. My director can tell you that I had a personal relationship with each and every child in the building and knew everyone by name.
While working in the infant toddler room at the childcare facility, it was very important that we taught each child to feed themselves and learn how to walk. We would constantly read to them and hold circle time each day so they could develop verbal skills. Our job was to prepare them as much as possible for the "1" year old room. I left the facility because I wanted to bring all my love and skills to a family setting.
I set out to find a family that really needed someone to come into their lives and help them from beginning to the end. Becoming a nanny was a great opportunity for me. When I started my first long-term position the boy was 1 years old. I loved the way the family allowed me to become a part of their day-to-day life. We depended on each other for the growth and development of the child. I appreciated the fact that the parents were very accepting and appreciative of the things I wanted to creatively implement into the child's daily schedule. I am so happy to have had many experiences caring for children in different settings, and to be able to tie all my skills into my love for childcare.

I love to teach children that they are special they are worthy and loved and smart. I like to use paint and really play and help children use their imaginations with everything being about technology these days.
