About me

A native of Queens, NY, I grew up in Providence, Rhode Island, and moved back to NY when I was 15. I have seven siblings and growing up, I loved the theater. I swore I was going to be on Broadway one day! In my mid-twenties, I went to Culinary School and graduated with a certificate in Culinary Arts. In a twist of fate, though, I didn't work in the culinary field. Instead, I ended up in my favorite job of all: I became a full-time mom! When my son was diagnosed with Autism, I threw myself into caring for him in every way I could, which gave me the experience to do the work I love now.

My very first job was babysitting. I've always loved kids, even at a very young age, when I combed my sister's hair and changed her diapers and looked after her, despite being a kid myself. Before I made it my career, I did small babysitting jobs, like watching my neighbors’ kids on date nights and watching my friend’s 2 year-old son while she was out of state.

In 2013, I began working with a family whose son was just 4 when I started. I stayed with them until the pandemic, when he was 11 years old. I picked him up from school, helped him with homework, took him to his after-school activities, and set up play-dates. Though he is now too old for a babysitter, I still watch him on the occasional date night just because!

Through referrals from his family, I had a number of other children who I watched for date nights or at the same time as their son. I have a number of current families who will reach out to me for occasional work and have requested me numerous times – too many to list here! Because of my son, I have experience working with children with Autism and other special needs, and I'm willing and able to learn any skills I may need. For instance, I know the ASL alphabet and some basic signs.

Nothing warms my heart more than watching a child's face light up when they learn a new thing, especially when I know I was the one to help them learn it! My favorite part of the job is being the person a child can seek when they are sad or hurt or just wants to tell me about their super cool amazing new toy. Taking care of children isn't just a job for me – I genuinely love all of my nanny kids as if they were my own and that's exactly how I treat them.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I hope to still be watching children in 5 years and to have made a difference in more young lives.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I really am big on reading and educational board games. Weather-permitting, going out to the playground is my top choice. I am also especially fond of going to museums or anything to enrich their minds in a fun way.
