About me

Hello! My name is Renea I am 24 years old, I grew up in a small town called Vernon located in northern New Jersey. I graduated in May 2019 from Montclair State University with my Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and a minor in psychology. I recently moved to Hamilton Heights located in Northern Manhattan. Since I graduated from college, I was hired as a part-time dance instructor and choreographer for a dance studio in South Jersey. There I work with children from the ages of 5-18, teaching all styles of dance. I also work part-time for a nonprofit dance organization in NYC called Gibney Dance. There my tasks range from being a production assistant and helping run events to administrative work and customer service. My experience with being a dancer, especially teaching dance has helped me become a better nanny/babysitter, because I am able to give the children active outlets and creative activities.

I worked in a daycare located in Vernon, NJ for 5 years. There I worked in the infant-school ago room. In the infant room my tasks included feeding the infants, changing diapers, putting infants down for naps, training infants on how to crawl/walk, and various learning actives with infants/toddlers. Throughout high school I was a babysitter for many families from the daycare and would usually watch children on weekend nights when parents were out. During collage I was a nanny for a family in Montclair, NJ. My job with this family consisted of picking up/driving kids to school and activities, walking the dogs, doing some house chores (laundry, making dinner, etc.), and of course playing with the kids! In college I also worked at the campus recreation center where I was a birthday part attendant. My tasks included creating activities for children that lasted one hour and then going into the pool with children where we would play water games and monitor the children with lifeguard supervision as well.

When it comes to childcare and teaching children, I like to create activities that stimulate the children's creative and problem-solving side of the brain. I feel that maintaining ongoing activities for children keeps them engaged and active throughout the day. I love being outdoors and exploring, but I am also a sucker for watching movies and relaxing. Two words that best describe me are organized and dependable. I also have a huge creative and imaginative side to me, crafts, puzzles, and drawing are right up my alley! Feel free to reach out!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I absolutely love to teach children dance and have dance breaks throughout the day. I also like draw, paint, and make crafts. I enjoy playing games (especially outside) like around the world in basketball, jump rope, hopscotch, hide and seek, scavenger hunts, etc.
