About me
I grew up in Kingston, Jamaica. As the only daughter for my mother and the middle child for my dad, I always strived to be the best at what I put my mind to. I graduated from a prominent all-girls high school and went on to pursue my degree in Hospitality. I completed my degree in Hotel and Resort Management and Marketing. I went in this direction because I had a passion for making others happy and exceeding their expectations in every way that I can.
Even though I had a great passion for hospitality, I realized I had a love for children because of their joy, drive, and spirit for life, growth, and learning. Because I helped my family members to with their children on several occasions, I knew I had to pursue a career in childcare. I started my childcare journey when I was recommended to a family where I became a baby nurse to their newborn; I ended up nannying for them for two years. My duties included feeding, bathing, setting a proper sleep schedule, meal prep, among other things. After my first experience I continued my pursuit and became a weekend nanny for a 9 year-old boy. I helped him with his homework, took him to and from sporting activities, engaged in recreational activities with kids his age and assisted his mother in household chores. I then transitioned back to being a baby nurse for a newborn baby boy whom I then nannied for nearly two years. My duties Include light housekeeping, reading, arts and crafts, feeding, and potty training. Soon after I migrated to the States and to focus on being a nanny. I was shortly connected with a family and nannied for their 5 year-old doing after school and morning care. My duties Include helping him with his homework, making him meals, and engaging in outdoor activities.
I love spending time with children and I do my best to make our time together fun, healthy, and educational. I love making children smile and I try my best to make their days better. Knowing that I have the ability to shape their minds and establish life long habits brings me joy. I live by the quote, “ while we teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”
