About me

I grew up in a very small town in Missouri. I'm the youngest of four siblings, so I definitely understand sibling dynamics. My mother was a Kindergarten teacher and principal, so I grew up in schools. I was very invested in choir, showchoir, band, colorguard, dance, theatre, and academics. I have a deep love for animals. I graduated from Missouri State University. I began as an Anthropology major, but switched to musical theatre, and I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Anthropology. I am passionate about music, theatre, and dance. I also love to learn about different cultures! I moved to NYC to pursue my work as a performer.

As a childcare professional I have worked in a variety of settings. I worked as a Kindergarten teacher's assistant during summer school and worked with preschoolers who would start school that fall. I also worked as a camp counselor for the YMCA's Child Development center with 40-70 children ages 5-13. I organized and facilitated games, crafts, field trips, tutoring, and meals. I also worked as a Paraprofessional aiding our children with special needs. Currently I teach English as a second language to children living in China. I also work at the New York Kids Club in Long Island City. I work with both the gym and craft events. We throw PJ and Birthday parties for 20-40 children ages 2-10. I am a very passionate and engaged worker. I understand the importance of a child's routine, but am always working to make each day a special one.

I love to engage with children in artistic ways. It is beautiful to see children experience art, music, theatre, and dance! For some it is their first exposure. It is such a beneficial outlet in their lives. Arts can build confidence, aid in motor skills and memory, and will have a positive influence on a child's life forever. I like to believe that I can truly enrich the life of a child. There is no greater honor than that of helping to create the future.
