About me

Growing up in Brazil, I always knew I wanted to work with children. As soon as I arrived in the US, I decided to work as a nanny for sisters 2 and 4 years old. From the very beginning, I fell in love with my work. I knew this was something that I wanted to make a career out of.

Throughout my career as a nanny, I’ve worked with infants as young as 5 months to 4 year olds. I’ve found the most rewarding part of being a nanny is seeing a child develop from an infant to a walking and talking toddler, to a bright young child. Knowing I’ve had a hand in a child's development is truly the most rewarding feeling I have ever experienced. Being a nanny for me is so special because I not only care for the child, but I also get to help shape their growing imagination, innocence, and creativity which I believe play a major role in their development. Working with kids for so many years has brought me a level of joy that makes my work seem like anything but work. After my husband and I welcomed our daughter this past November, I truly believe I became a better nanny because now I’m a mother as well.

Some of the principles I adhere to as a nanny are that children should be given the ability to become independent individuals by setting limits with positivity, praise, the occasional discipline and a wealth of encouragement. I always make sure they stick to a schedule consisting of classes, play dates, and new experiences. The most important aspect of my job though, is showing them love and understanding. I become a part of their lives and they become a part of mine. For me, being a nanny is the best career path I could have taken. I truly feel so lucky that I get to work with children every day for a living.
