About me

I was born in New York City to Argentinean parents. When I turned one, we moved to Santiago, Chile, where my two younger sisters were born. After about eight years there, we moved back to New York City for my father's job. As a child I was a gymnast up until 12 years-old, and I competed often. I later turned that energy into basketball and volleyball, where I played all four years on the varsity team in high school. Needless to say, I was a very active and energetic child. After graduating from a small school in New York, I traveled to Israel for a gap year to study and volunteer with the Israeli Red Cross. When I returned, I attended Colby College, a small liberal arts school in Maine, where I studied International Relations with a focus on Human Rights. After graduating, I traveled to South Korea to teach English in a rural elementary school.

After returning from my time abroad, I worked various childcare jobs, starting at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) on the Upper West Side. I worked as a part-time art teacher for infants, as well as a weekly Jewish educator for toddlers aged 3 and 4, where I would plan curriculum and ensure safety and well-being. I was then introduced to the director of the Educational Alliance Preschool on the Lower East Side, where I discovered my passion for early childhood education. I worked as an associate teacher, then as the director of the summer session, and as head teacher. My tasks ranged from ensuring physical and emotional safety, to cognitive development. We also often assisted with potty training, as well as worked with children who had more developmental needs.

My general philosophy around childcare, and life in general, is about respecting children and listening to their needs and their interests. I like to let children's authentic personalities shine through and I often take my cue from them in terms of activities to pursue. I love to engage children in conversation and help them navigate whatever conflicts they may be having in their lives. I am a very active person and have a lot of energy that I usually take out by walking a lot and going for runs, so my energy levels match those of the children!
