About me

I was born in Montgomery County, Maryland. I have one older sister, and one younger brother. Even though I'm the middle child, I've always been the nurturing one of my siblings. I've always loved caring for people, and making sure they know they are loved. For as long as I can remember I have loved babies! As I aged I learned that I actually just loved kids. I started as a mother's helper when I was 10, and by the time I graduated high school I had eight years of childcare experience.

I sat for several families in my middle and high school years, but the family I spent by far the most time with had two little girls who were 1 and 3 when I started, and 9 and 12 by the time I went away to college. It was one of the highlights of my teen years to watch these girls grow up, and still whenever I’m home in Maryland I go and see them. Once I graduated from college I knew I wanted to move to New York and in order to save for my move I nannied for a family with a 10-week-old baby. I spent five months keeping him safe, dry, fed, clean, and happy. After moving to the city in September of 2018, I started looking for babysitting jobs immediately. Through a mutual friend, I connected with two families, both with kids under 10 and both in need of a date night sitter. I also found a job picking up three girls (age 10 and twins age 6) from school three days a week, and taking them to their after school activities, home for homework, dinner, bath/shower, and getting ready for bed. I stayed with the family for a year, after which they relocated to Westchester.

I'm a trained opera singer and got my Bachelor's degree in classical voice from Towson University. I am a lifelong lover of theatre, and music (particularly 70s folk rock), Hollywood Golden Age films, Stephen King novels, cooking, writing, stand up comedy and a million other things. I say all this because, in addition to priority one (keeping children safe) my biggest goal with the kids I work with is to help them develop their passions, whatever they may be. I think it's so important that kids know they are supported in their quests for finding the things that bring them joy.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Paying my bills as an artist. Working in professional theatre, or television, or film, or comedy whether it be on stage or screen, in a writers room, as a voice coach, or hopefully all of the above!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Cooking! I am Italian, Irish, and Jewish all of which translates to GREAT FOOD. I love to share recipes with kiddos. I love to encourage kids to embrace their passions, whatever they may be and try to learn with them about new things they feel interested in. I also try to always leave a home loving The Beatles a little more than they did before meeting me.
