About me
I grew up in Delaware with a brother and step-siblings. From an early age I’ve been drawn to the arts: dancing, acting, singing, and fine art. As a lover of imaginative play, I frequently assigned my siblings the role of student, patient, and employee. I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Radford University and worked in design before realizing my love for design doesn’t hold a candle to the passion I have for educating children. Nannying has put me on the path toward Early Childhood Education, and I am currently studying at Columbia's Teachers College.
I’ve worked with children since the age of 12, when I was a mother’s helper to a family friend. Over the following years I babysat for neighborhood families, spent school summers babysitting, and after college became a full-time nanny. I’ve worked with children between 3 months and 14 years old, taking care of anywhere between 1 and 4 children at a time. I’ve worked with newborns and infants, focusing on early milestones like gross motor skills, food transitions, sleep training, and socialization. I’ve nannied two sets of twin toddlers, working on educational milestones, creative and outdoor play, potty training, improving fine motor skills, and creating a daily routine focusing on a Montessori-based curriculum. I’ve also worked with two families with girls in elementary school, where I helped with school pickup, transportation to activities, homework help, curiosity based creative play, dinner and bedtime routines, home management, overnights, and handling appointments. My most recent position also targeted social and emotional development to help improve independence and coping skills.
My desire to work with children stems from my love of learning and exploring. I believe the curiosity of children drives success in all areas of their life, whether that be educational, creative, social, or personal. Understanding the mind of a child and meeting them where they are is a vital part of childcare and helps us guide them in a positive direction. My goal is to play my part in shaping the next generation of loving, creative, curious, independent, motivated, and joyful humans.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I enjoy cooking and love when children are excited to learn with me. Even at an early age, children can start learning basic life skills, and baking and cooking encompass a lot through reading, following directions, creative problem solving, fine motor skills, math, etc. All while putting their heart into something that they can enjoy after. I'm also a huge fan of education-based creative and imaginative play and find myself encouraging children to play "make-believe" and to work through problems with creative solutions.
