About me

Hello! A little about myself, I grew up in Sunnyvale, CA. I come from a family of five and am the youngest of three sisters. I have three nieces and three nephews. When I was 11 years old, my sister had her first child and instantaneously fell in love with my niece. I loved and enjoyed playing with my niece so much, that it sparked passion and a joy in me, and I knew that in the future I wanted to work with children. In my senior year of high school, I took a child development class where I assisted preschool teachers in a classroom setting. Ever since then, I have been working in the childcare field. In 2012, I graduated from Modesto Junior College with an Associates of Science in Child Development. I am currently attending University of Washington and majoring in Early Care and Education (online program) and recently received my INA credentialed Nanny with the International Nanny Association. After graduating from MJC (Modesto Junior College), I moved to San Jose, CA and pursued a preschool teaching position working with children from ages 2 through 5 years old. My experience in this position included planning, researching, coordinating, and designing developmentally appropriate educational and recreational activities that supported and enhanced children’s developmental milestones. After working for a total of 10 years in the teaching field, I’ve become proficient and highly skilled in the infant/ toddler and preschool age care with an extensive knowledge in early childhood development. I took this knowledge I gained from teaching and implemented it into my work as a career nanny.

My transition from preschool teacher to professional nanny led me to various families that I’ve worked with in the past. I’ve worked with a total of five families that I continue to keep in touch with. In my most recent experience, my charge was a boy (start age: 3years old) who I took care of for 2 and a half years. I provided healthy meal preparation, completed child’s laundry, packed, and organized child’s clothing for travel, provided summer live-in childcare in the Hamptons and took charge of routine dental checkups. I collaborated with his parents to continue to my charge’s education throughout the day. I developed and implemented academic Montessori inspired activities that supported and enhanced many developmental milestones. I also created and developed literacy activities that introduced new vocabulary words and increased word recognition, and STEM and STEAM activities that enhanced a fun understanding of science and art. My experience also includes working with infant/toddlers. I made sure I tailored all their educational activities to hit and enhance developmental milestones. I’ve also utilized baby sign language to help babies communicate their needs.

For a total of 16 years, I have been working with children of all ages. It's beautiful and rewarding to see their minds grow and their excitement every time they reach developmental milestones. I enjoy being a part of the child’s learning process and creating a beautiful bond. For the past five years, I’ve enjoyed bringing over what I’ve implemented in my classrooms into a more intimate setting with the children I took charge of. I take value in being an extension of the parent to help provide a safe and healthy environment in which their children can learn and thrive.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

As a previous preschool teacher , I taught ages 2.9-years-old through 5-years-old. As a preschool teacher I understood the importance of creating and supporting an environment in which all their needs are met in all developmental areas including social/emotional, language/literacy, Cognition and Motor/Physical Development. I took pride in developing and implementing all kinds of fun and hands on activities (such as STEM and STEAM activities) that would enhance my student’s emotional intelligence, social skills, phonological awareness, and many other developmental skills.
