About me

I grew up in the small town of Medina, Ohio as the youngest and the only girl of 4 children. I was an active child in gymnastics, dance, singing, theatre, and more. I went on to double-major in Theatre and Politics and Government at Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor's degree. I've been in Brooklyn since, babysitting throughout.
I was raised by a single mother who worked full-time, from a young age, I was in charge of waking everyone for school, helping to prepare meals, taking care of our animals and the farm, and getting everyone to school on time. I spent my pre-teen years volunteering with children as much as I could, mostly with toddlers, infants, and kindergartners. My family and I ran the 2-year-old room at a local organization for years, caring for up to 30 toddlers at a time. In middle school, I started doing part-time babysitting for neighbors and family friends as much as I could, from newborns and up. At 16, I was hired as a childcare specialist at my local community center, working with children aged 18 months to 11 years. I had many private families from this job, mostly working after school and date nights. In college, I worked as a camp counselor for people with developmental disabilities, with charges ranging in age from 5 years to 95 years old. I received extensive in-depth training for this position. The next year, I nannied for a family of 2, a 4-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy on the autism spectrum. I was with the children all day and tended to all of their needs, including occasional date nights. I was able to travel a lot in college and have helped many families internationally. Families trust me for on-call care and know that I will always go the extra mile.
My goal is to help children understand their worth and value through the nurturing of their imagination and growing minds. I have a strong growth mindset and I want children to know that they are limitless. I want to help children not only create a more loving, peaceful, and just world but help them know that they are capable of doing so. I have a Montessori background as well, having taken classes and worked with one Montessori family.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Actively working as an artist, whether it be through theatre, improv, comedy, or film. I want to be working often, making my own content... booked and busy!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

When using your imagination, any activity can be fun, educational, and exciting! I love to read, sing, dance, and play games with children, as well as share stories. I always encourage time for creativity whether it be with a craft, coloring, painting, or making up a game with household items. I love to teach children about how to live more sustainably and have experience in college running environmental education efforts. We can learn how to reduce, reuse, and recycle things together; I have a whole collection of eco-friendly crafts and games. I like to have goals for each day that the children help make: whether it be just to have a great day or to learn a new word! Most of all, I like to let children lead the way, interested a lot in Montessori methods.
