About me

I love working in childcare and have been steadily accumulating experience for about 10 years now. I started out taking care of neighbors and doing nursery duty at church. In college, I was lucky enough to find a fun group of moms to fight over me for their ladies' nights out. I happily stayed in that small-town network for several years. The occasional sitting gig turned into overnight stays (because sometimes you need a weekend), beach vacations, and even international travel. I've been trusted with driving minivans and keeping the kiddos at my place.

My experience is primarily with infants and toddlers, so I am accomplished in the arts of nap time, bath time, teething, talking, toddling, potty training, and collapsing the stubbornest of strollers. A child's safety and sense of security are always my top priorities. I received my CPR certification in the summer of 2014 and am currently working towards a degree in nursing. I'm adept at managing allergies, dietary restrictions, and administering meds. I have learned from the best - working moms, SAHMs, dads who cook, dads who can do a perfect impression of Cookie Monster, Southern moms, city moms and, from the champion of motherhood herself, my mom!

As a side note, cleaning and organizing are reflexive for me. I'm always willing to help with household projects, or just keep the toys from eating your living room.

Some personal info: I am a Virginia native but have lived in the city since 2013. I speak Spanish fluently. A few of the things I love most in the world are: Babies (didn't see that one coming!), reading, the outdoors, traveling, horseback riding, theater, rollerblading, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Reading is one of my favorite ways to connect with kids and support their development as young readers. I also grew up in a musical household and enjoy sharing that love with babies and big kids alike.
