About me

Raised in Denver, Colorado, I'm a lover of all things both outdoors and in. However when I'm not hiking, skiing, running, or biking, my true and deep passion for as long as I can remember has been acting. The arts in general are where my main interests lie; I am an avid film and theatergoer, and music is one of the most important parts of my life. I attended The University of Michigan where I got a BFA in Acting with a Minor of Creative Writing. Since college, I’ve acted professionally in Chicago, and am pursuing a career in acting and writing in New York!

My childcare experience is varied. My first experience with children was as the assistant director of a summer theater intensive, where I was in charge of warming up and getting to know the kids, and then eventually writing the script based on the personalities of the group. I did this for two summers, working with kids ages 8 to 16. In college I created a program that partnered theater students at the university with underserved middle schools to put theatrical programs into the curriculum. There I worked with kids ages 11 through 14 to teach them the importance of using their voices to tell stories. Between graduating college and moving to Chicago, I served as an on-call nanny for a newborn girl. Whenever I was needed, I would hang out with her for a few hours, feeding her, changing her diaper, and putting her down for naps. In Chicago, I worked for two families. For the first, I took care of two sibling, 6 and 8, after school. Together we worked on homework and played in the local park. I usually made snacks for them, and occasionally cooked a full dinner. For the second family, I served as their 14-year old daughter’s tutor. She was a sophomore in high school working on PSAT prep, as well as general homework in all of her classes.

The thing I love most about kids is their unfiltered imagination and boundless creative spirit. These are two essential parts of acting, and there is lots to be learned from kids. I’m very interested in teaching kids how they can use that imagination to enrich their lives, and express themselves freely!
