About me
Hello!
I've been working with children as both an instructor and babysitter for the past 5 years. I began my career as a movement teacher at Playgarden NYC (an enrichment facility located in Tribeca). While at Playgarden, I taught classes for children as young as 11 months and as old as 7 years and prided myself on being a fun and enthusiastic role model in a facility where children could learn how to socially interact with other children and adults. I developed a strong bond with a few of the families that attended my classes and began babysitting on a routine basis.
My experience at Playgarden led to a job as pre-school teacher and after-school instructor at Bija Kids, a yoga based children's center located in Clinton Hill. At Bija, I helped the program coordinator develop a curriculum for the pre-school with a focus on the environment and how it plays an integral part in our daily lives and creative expression. The after-school program consisted of fun and engaging activities that could be tailored for children of varying ages. I worked extensively with large groups of children ranging in age from 3 to 8 years and developed techniques that catered to each age-group. Part of the after-school program was to assist in homework help and teaching responsibility through tasks appropriate for young children.
I continued babysitting while working at Bija and still do!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I like to teach children the value of creative expression and responsibility. I think it's incredibly important for kids to have some sort of creative outlet whether that be music, dance, art, theater or just imaginative play. Incorporating age appropriate tasks helps give the child a sense of responsibility and teaches the rewarding feeling of job well done. I think getting outside and interacting with other children is also incredibly important and make it a mission to facilitate that when the weather permits.
