About me

I'm 26 years old and live in Brooklyn. Working with children has always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. My family and where I am from helped shape my values of the foundation of who I am today. My family and I are incredibly close. I have one older sister who is my role model. When I was little I loved playing “pretend” with my sister. My family has always known my love for teaching as it was apparent from an early age. For one birthday, my parents bought me a chalkboard easel so I could be play teacher. They always provided me with a creative outlet to express myself which helped me blossom into the person that I am today. I loved playing and dancing when I was younger, so I try my best to incorporate that into my everyday routine. My town was small so all the kids in the neighborhood knew each other and played together. I spent the majority of my time outside going on bike rides around my town, and hanging out with friends. I was active and loved trying new things.

I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina. After college, I worked in a daycare and as a Nanny. My favorite thing about caring for children is seeing their "ah-ha" moment when they learn something new. I enjoy fostering the curiousity and imagination of children while discovering their unique personalities. My degree in Early Childhood Education allows me to use the tools I learned in college in our everyday activities. After working as an infant teacher in a daycare, I decided to work as a nanny to some wonderful families. I have a total of 7 years of experience, with ages ranging from newborn to 10 years old. I enjoy arts and crafts, reading, yoga/mindfulness, and being outdoors. Some outdoor activities I enjoy are picnics, nature walks, and going to the playground.

Cooking, playing, and being an active child has helped me become the childcare provider that I am today. I try my best to bring high-energy and love providing the safe and caring experiences that I had growing up as a young child.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I would love to cook with children. I love for children to have a hands-on experience with their meals. I like giving children options of vegetables and fruit they can eat for lunch and dinner and giving them a say on what they're eating. In addition, I love doing arts-and-crafts and to let their imagination run free. Some skills I would love to teach is communication and manners. I speak softly and slowly to children. I repeat words frequently and sing the ABC's. I reread books so they can hear the same words over and over again. I like to eat lunch with the child so they have a model on how to sit and eat at the table. I like teaching verbal and non verbal ways to let me know when they are done eating.
