About me

Growing up I was definitely an "artsy" kid. I loved dancing, singing, and playing make believe. Things really haven't changed that much between then and now, I received my BA in Dramatic Art with a minor in Music from UNC-Chapel Hill. I have been pursuing a career in the arts while working with some amazing kids.

I began occasional babysitting in college and made the transition to being a full-time nanny in 2015. I worked with a lovely UES family with three children, ages 10 months, 5, and 9. I helped with after school care as well as full days on the weekend, often traveling to their home in Connecticut. I also travelled internationally with the family on a couple of occasions focusing my care on the infant. When I moved back to North Carolina I worked part time with a little girl, age 8 months. My duties included changing diapers, meal time, warming up breast milk bottles and having a lot of fun with art, exploring outside, and reading. Her little brother arrived during my time there and shortly thereafter mom decided she wanted to stay home full time. I then worked with a family's first child from 5 months to 14 months and was asked back to care for their second boy from 3 months to 12 months. My responsibilities included changing diapers, sleep training, cleaning, and putting away dishes, the childrens' laundry, and general tidying up. We had lots of fun playing in and outdoors with puzzles, stackable toys, and books. I also helped this family move from Durham to Greensboro. My most recent family is very close to my heart because they are my soon to be family. I helped take care of a boy (9 months) for one month while they transitioned from daycare to a part-time nanny.

I feel that working as a nanny gives me as much as I give the children. To see the world through a child's eyes, where the mundane seems a miracle, is so special. I also believe providing children with a loving, safe environment to explore, learn, and grow, gives them the strongest starting blocks possible to live a fulfilling life where they can feel no risk in caring for others and being a force for good in this world.
