About me
I grew up in New Jersey with an older brother and younger sister. As a child, I loved soccer, reading, and spending time with my family. My love for books eventually led me to pursue an English degree at Franklin & Marshall College. I'm now at the New School working towards an MFA in nonfiction creative writing. I'm currently exploring the possibility of becoming a professor or writing teacher in some capacity. I've always loved working with children, and I find teaching very rewarding.
Being a big sister had an impact on me. I became a mother's helper and then babysitter as soon as I could. Over the years, I've gotten involved in numerous volunteer opportunities and projects working with underserved communities. I moved to Israel after college and taught English to elementary school children. I worked with groups of two to eight children that ranged in ages 8-12. While they improved in English my Hebrew may have gotten worse, but they were always willing to be patient with me. It was one of the most impactful years of my life. Since moving back to the states, I became a full time nanny for a family in Philadelphia. When I began the boy was 18 months old. My duties included feeding him meals, bathing him, taking him to classes, engaging with him in activities and putting him down for naps and bed.
Working with children has taught me so much over the years. I love getting to know each child and their unique personalities. Childcare feels essential to my life. I am lucky to have had patient, loving mentors in my life and I hope to provide the same to the children I work with.
