About me

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to go on adventures and explore my surroundings. Growing up in a rural town, I had the opportunity to swim, bike, and spend time in the woods exploring and imagining the little microcosms and wild worlds right under my feet. That experience has always been a central part of my identity. Even now, having lived in NYC for 20 years, I love being a tourist and discovering new things.

I have experience working with children as young as few months old through 8 years of age. I have a real soft spot for infants and toddlers. I truly understand the amount of attention needed to care for them. I have changed diapers, warmed bottles, fed and administered medicine, handled nap time. I am also practiced in facilitating safe play as babies become toddlers. I've been with them while learning to run, walk, and skateboard. Greeting school age children at pick up with enthusiasm and generating excitement about the things they've learned that day is important to me. I've accompanied my kiddos to multiple after-school programs via public transportation and/or car service. I approach homework help with great care and patience and later wind down the evening with dinner prep, bath time, and bedtime. I thrive in a positive and encouraging environment in which I focus on the goals of the parents and working together to insure the safety, care, and growth of the child.

More recently, I genuinely feel joy when I share a sweet or fun interaction with a child that we can reflect on at the end of the day. I enjoy the way children engage with their surroundings and the perspective they bring to everyday things. That perspective has a way of pulling you down to earth and helping you to remember what it's all about. It’s important to me to foster respectfulness and kindness within the children I work with.
