About me

I grew up in Connecticut, as the youngest child of one other sibling, and have lived there my entire life, outside of college. As a child I most enjoyed spending time crafting and creating, playing outside, and getting lost in reading. I graduated college from the University of Rhode Island in 2014 and received my degree in Bachelor's of Science in Communicative Disorders. I also took up a minor degree in Psychology as well. Since graduating college, I have been nannying over the past 5 years consistently.

Growing up and during high school, I constantly spent my years babysitting family and non family related children from newborns/infants to toddlers. During summers and school breaks from college, I continued with sitting for children up until the ages of 4 and 5. All of these jobs included feedings, diaper changes, transportation to and from school, and providing entertainment. During these recent 5 years, I have worked with a family taking care of their youngest two girls. When I first started, they were 1 and 2 years old, and recently ended with them at the beginning of July now that they're 6 and 7 years old! My responsibilities with them have definitely changed over the years because of their ages. I started with diaper changes, feedings, taking them out for activities, and playing with them, to educational learning, transportation to and from school, meal prep, and caring for their overall well-being. During my time here, I came to grow an incredible bond with the girls, a well as their parents and family, and cared for them like they were my own family. Also during my 5 years, I worked with a family of twin toddlers who were about 1 1/2 years old at that time. My time there was spent caring for their well-being, diaper changes, tracking food intake, transportation, activities, and looking in on their speech therapy sessions.

I love for kids to just be kids and explore everything and anything the world has to offer to them. I believe children should see the world without judgements and be able to offer kindness to everyone. All children deserve someone to be their champion, and fight for them no matter what and I'd like to be that champion for them.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I hope to be able to start a family of my own. I have always wanted children and look forward to the day where I can have that for myself. I also hope to be in a place in my career where I have really honed in on what I could see myself doing for the next few decades of my life.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach and share with children reading. I think it is so important to get kids young into reading because I truly feel it can take them anywhere and every where they want, regardless of the level they get to. I also love to show kids the importance of interacting and socializing with others their age. Every child deserves a friend in this world and someone who's going to be there for them outside of the comforts in their home, whether to just simply play, have someone to interact with, learn from, or become a friend to. An activity I love to share with children is painting/drawing. It does not matter how well they do it or what they draw or paint, but it's good for them to embrace their creative side and open up their imagination to what could be, even if it does not exist.
