About me

I grew up in Park City, Utah. I am the second oldest of four kids. I helped my mom out with my two younger sisters at the age of five. I've always been a caregiver and felt it as a calling. As a child, I loved playing outside, making forts, playing with tiny things, and most of all loved doing anything artistic. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, with and emphasis in drawing and painting. I always wanted to be an artist, but I have a hard time selling myself and monetizing my efforts.

I started babysitting pretty much when I was a baby myself :) I babysat for all the neighbors and families from church from around age 10. I started nannying as a freshman in college and stuck with it and the families were great working with my school schedule. Since graduating in 2008, I've continued nannying because I love kids and they love me :) I am great with children and it just feels natural caring for them. I feel like I haven't lost that "thing" that most adults don't have anymore, that makes life as a child magical.

My dream is to write and illustrate children's books, which I'm in the process of, and nannying has been very helpful with reaching that goal. Being with kids keeps me young and sharp as well. I'd like to have my own children someday, but for now, I'm trying to focus on art and other people's cute kids.

I've worked will all ages of children, from day one to 18 years old. I have worked for families with one child up to families with 5 kids and more. I've done it all from weekend babysitter, date night sitter, full-time nanny, church nursery teacher, babysitter for families on vacation, and taught art in an elementary school when I was in high school. I have experience with infants, children with special needs, teenagers and their "issues" and worked with all different types of families and different types of rules and discipline. I have had all kinds of duties, including infant care, potty training, sleep training, speech training, traveling with families, organizing, clothing shopping, grocery shopping, preparing meals, driving, swimming, and so much more.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In 5 years I hope to be a published children's book author and illustrator. I hope to own a house again and have a garden with lots of fruits and vegetables. I hope to have my own children one day and put all my nanny skills to action.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love anything arts and crafts with children. I love getting messy with slime and play dough and bubbles and sand, etc. I like taking kids to parks and getting out of the house. I'm also very good at making up fun things to do if we need to be indoors. I like showing kids how to prepare food and treats. I also like teaching them how to pick up after themselves and help them to be more independent.
