About me

I was born in College Station, TX and grew up in Waukegan, Illinois. I have two younger sisters, and I would always enjoy building forts inside and playing outside as a child. I graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama with a minor in Social and Cultural Analysis. I have been working in the city as an actor, singer, and substitute teacher. My outgoing personality and training as an actor allows me to work well with children, be flexible, and engaged.

I have worked with children since I was 12 years old. I started babysitting my mom's friends children, and then began volunteering at a summer program. I officially became a Teacher's Assistant at the age of 14. I would help out in the classroom with projects, lessons and experiments, and I would also watch the children on field trips. I worked at the camp for 5 summers. I was a date-night sitter for two boys, ages 1 and 3. I played games with them, we did sing alongs, and ate snacks. I have worked as a substitute teacher in New York City for 7 months. I taught kindergarten, 2nd-4th grade, 6th-8th grade, and at a transfer high school. I tutored Algebra 1 to high schoolers for the January Regents. My long term teaching assignments included kindergarten, and 3rd - 4th grade. I helped out in the classroom with math, reading and writing, behavior and classroom management. In every class, we would have a good time, and learn new and exciting material.

I love to watch children discover new things. I believe that inside every child is already a fully developed person capable of anything. I can connect with children from all different backgrounds with different abilities and likes/dislikes. I have been fortunate enough to always be connected to my inner child which helps me get along with children and have fun with them. Being an actress allows me to constantly be exploring, be innovated, and be engaged. I approach childcare with the mindset that a child has as much to teach me as I to teach them. I believe in boundaries and a safe environment for children to enjoy their childhood to the fullest.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach children about the connection between drawing and animation. I like to share the skills of playing pretend/make believe. I also enjoy sharing things about nutrition and how it affects the way we learn and experience our day.
