About me

I grew up in Rhode Island where I spent most of my days climbing trees, playing with my dolls, and making silly videos with my younger brother. I have always been passionate about anything creative, which is why when I was 16, I decided to start volunteering at an art school for inner city kids in Providence, RI. I volunteered as an assistant art teacher for kids ages 7-12. I was so inspired by the kids that I helped teach, which is why I decided to write my high school Senior Project about the crucial benefits that creativity and using imagination provide for developing children.

While I was in high school, I was babysitting for a few different families, either part-time or for date nights. My first babysitter job was for my neighbors two girls who were 2 and 4 years old at the time. I also babysat for a family who has four children, ages 7, 5, 4, and 5 months. The oldest son in this family had special needs, so I was constantly coming up with calming games for all of us to play together as to not overwhelm him. I was also taking care of their baby brother by changing his diaper and bottle feeding. I babysat for another family who also had a son with special needs. He was 14 years old and it felt very rewarding to help him with homework and to see him excel.

After graduating, I decided to move to NYC and pursue a degree in the arts. I continued working as a nanny for a few families. The first family I worked for has a daughter who was 8 years old, and I was her nanny for 3-4 years. The next was for a 3-year-old girl, and the last was an 8-year-old boy. I babysat them for two years. My responsibilities for these three kids consisted of picking them up from school and bringing them to their extracurricular activities. I would cook dinner, help with homework, get them ready for bed, and do the dishes.

Last year, I graduated from The City College of New York with a bachelor's degree in Art. I always incorporate creativity as a nanny, which is why I would love to share this creative side with a family looking for an experienced caregiver. My goal is to find a job that allows me to utilize my childcare experience and art experience at the same time!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Working on creating an interior design/decorating business that focuses in decorating children’s rooms!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach kids drawing techniques, as well as games that I played as a kid! One of my favorite games to play is the squiggle game. One person draws a random scribble and the other person has to create an image out of the scribble! It’s a lot of fun.
