About me

I grew up on the West Side of Chicago with 4 siblings whom I love dearly. At a very young age, I began singing in church and touring all over Illinois and the Tri-State area with many choirs and singing background vocals for various gospel artists. Upon entering High School, I was introduced to Musical Theatre and Choral Music and my life was changed forever. After performing for 3 years at my local HS, I decided to study Vocal Performance at Quincy University while minoring in Music Education and Theatre. Immediately after graduating, I moved back to Chicago and was blessed to find work as an Actor/Singer throughout Chicago for 2 years. After performing throughout Chicago, I eventually moved to Syracuse, NY where I worked as Full-Time Teaching Artist for the Redhouse Arts Center. After teaching full time, I decided to take on NYC as an actor and teacher and life couldn't have gotten better. Upon living there for 3 months, I moved to Hong Kong to play Simba in The Festival of the Lion King for 6 months. After returning, I worked in Florida and Illinois, as well as toured with an original show. In between gigs, I rekindled my love for dance and cheerleading and began coaching at the Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation, as well as tutoring and teaching throughout NYC.

I have been working with children since the age of 12, being a teacher's aide during the school year and for various summer camps and assisting my single mother in raising my 4 siblings and 2 adopted cousins. However, I was blessed to find my first Full Time teaching job immediately after graduation. I have worked as a choreographer, gymnastics coach, behavior para, tutor and taught private lessons to students ranging from 4 to 17 with various special needs ranging from epilepsy to dyslexia to cerebral palsy. I have also taught private lessons/tutored in Music Theory, Theatre/Drama, Dance, Beginning Piano and Gymnastics/Cheerleading.

Outside of my passion for children and education, I enjoy performing, reading new literature, experimenting with new recipes, arts and crafts, coaching cheerleading and gymnastics, arranging music and swimming.
