About me
I grew up in a small town in Connecticut as the oldest of 4. Growing up I was involved in many different activities. I enjoyed dancing, the arts, and playing softball. I went to the University of Connecticut where I studied Speech-Language Pathology. After college I worked as a special education paraprofessional at an elementary school in CT and a reading center, Lindamood-Bell. I then went to graduate school for speech-language pathologist at Southern Connecticut State University. Since then, I have been working with preschool, elementary, and high school students in the public schools in CT.
As the oldest of four (and the only girl), I was very involved in helping babysit and raise my younger siblings. I spent my high school years babysitting local families and being a counselor at a sleep away camp. During college, I was a music and drama head counselor at a day camp in Weston, CT. At that camp I would run music and drama activities for children 3-11 years old. I also spent those summers privately babysitting many of the kids from the camp. After graduating college, I continued to babysit local families and worked at an elementary school and private reading center. I then attended graduate school for speech-language pathology and continued to babysit. I have a lot of experience working with children with special needs. I have extensive experience babysitting and providing care for children of all ages. Babysitting duties have included included picking children up from activities, helping with homework, meal prepping, planning activities, and putting children to bed. I also have experience working as a speech-language pathologist in a preschool, elementary, and high school.
Since I was young I knew I wanted to work with children in some capacity. I always wanted to become a teacher but fell in love with speech pathology. I have dedicated the last 10 years of my life to working with children and I do not plan to stop. My goal is to continue to help children grow, learn about themselves, and provide a safe and exciting environment for them.
