About me
I grew up in a tiny village on an island, as the second youngest sibling. I loved singing in the children’s choir growing up, dancing, making new friends and playing ‘dress up’ depicting a hospital setting or even acting as ‘mommy’ with other kids. I love taking care of others and pursued my passion in nursing at the St. George’s University-School of Medicine where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. During my university years I volunteered at an agency taking care of children and adults and upon receiving my nursing license I became a full-time staff member. During my tenure there I realized how much children were drawn to me, the impact I placed on their lives and how much they meant to me.
Having a passion for kids I helped nurture my older sibling kids during my primary and high school vacation. I also conducted classes for about 30 kids ranging from infant to school age. After moving to New York and contemplating which field I should pursue I decided to pursue childcare after working with children for so many years. Since then it’s been a total joy. It makes you appreciate so much of the simpler things in life. I take pride in nurturing them, watching them grow, and exploring with them.
‘Easy-going and fun-loving’ is my second name. I enjoy singing and running around in the park with the kids, spending time outdoors, and doing arts and crafts. As it is often said that children experience growth when they feel safe, secure, and wanted. From an early age, I understand the importance of being honest, trustworthy, reliable, respectful, and to be warm and loving to others. Children are precious and the early childhood years are even more precious. Being a friend to the kids is something I cherish which makes it easier to be an authoritative figure when need be. I will always strive to use my skills, positive attitude, and friendly nature to excel in my role, and thus making a positive impact on children’s lives.
