About me

Hello all! My name is Lauren Pagano, and I’m a recent graduate from Fordham University where I received a degree in Dance and History. I was born in West Islip and raised in sunny South Florida only a short ride away from the beach! I have one sister who is 20 years old and she is currently going to school for nursing. I moved to NYC when I started university and have been here ever since! I’m currently pursuing a career in the performing arts, and thought while I pursue this, I would love the opportunity to use my love for children to financially sustain myself, and perhaps pass on my love for the arts to the next generation!

My most prominent childcare experience spans from the past couple summers in which I worked both as an Arts/Crafts instructor and Dance Assistant at the Little Ballerinas Dance Camp at Florida School for Dance Education. I dealt with children between the ages of three and eight. As an arts/crafts instructor I prepared daily crafts for each group I saw, and walked them through the process of making them. As a dance assistant I was responsible for demonstrating for the class, overseeing children’s engagement and interactions with others, keeping them entertained and taking them on bathroom runs! I’ve worked with children with both physical and mental handicaps in these situations and parents have always seemed very satisfied at the end of the program!

Besides dancing, I am very passionate about reading and writing. As a child my mother instilled a true love of reading in me that I hope to pass on to your children and perhaps my own one day! I am of the firm belief that while we must set boundaries and ground rules with children, we treat them with the dignity and respect any adult deserves! If we treat children good, they will be good people, and one day have their own good children. Through the younger generations we can precipitate change and love in the world!
