About me

I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia with my older sister and my parents. I went to Montessori school for 6 years, then segued into primary schooling. During high school, I was a peer tutor, a student prefect, a tour guide, a club president, etc. What drew me to these positions, though, was not simply the academic boost, but rather the interpersonal relationships that these opportunities offered. Simply put, I liked being around people! Quite predictably, this love of people and community led me to the performing arts, where my passion still lies today!

I just graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where I majored in Acting. Having a theater degree means I have an expansive imagination, a large capacity for empathy, and a very adaptable nature, which makes spending time with kids a real joy. We get to be silly and dramatic. And paired with my leadership background, it also means we get to be safe and punctual. I always strive to have a fun-filled and enriching day, and in my experience, kids are the perfect co-pilots to such a destination.

While I’ve been working with kids for a while (tutoring, camp counselor, after-school supervisor, etc), I’ve worked closely with 3 families in the past 4 years. A girl (age 6mo-3); girl (age 10) and girl (age 6); girl (age 9) and boy (age 5). I changed diapers, warmed bottles, washed laundry, cleaned dishes, drove the kids, played games, made meals, etc. I have experience with kids that have anxiety, ADHD, and dietary restrictions.
Here are some of my favorite things to do with kids! Play in the park (I’m an outdoorsy person!), make friendship bracelets (I love anything arts and crafts!), read (Harry Potter is a favorite, obviously), have jam sessions (I play piano and guitar), play boardgames (‘SORRY’ is always fun), bake cookies (taking into account dietary restrictions!), and so much more! I love to cater our activities to whatever best suits the family and the kids.

It’s a privilege to spend any amount of time with a child and make an impression on their growth—a privilege I take very seriously and welcome happily=)

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Working regularly as an actor in the industry, while maintaining a relationship to a family in the city as a childcare provider.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach kids how to make friendship bracelets, so that we can have a physical representation of our connection. I also love to teach guitar lessons and watch kids get excited about music. I have an 11 year-old step-sister, whom I love to cook with. We also like to learn about nutrition and health together, so it's always fun when we get to apply that new knowledge by making a meal together.
