About me

I have been surrounded by kids my whole life as the middle child of a large, busy family. I grew up watching my two younger brothers from the age of twelve. Outside of my family, I began babysitting around my neighborhood around the age of fourteen and continued through high school and college. I am a fully-engaged and active babysitter that loves to foster a space of creativity and discovery.

Aside from the typical babysitting jobs, I was a lifeguard and swim instructor at my local YMCA for over five years where I first became certified in CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen. I worked closely with children to help them overcome their fears of the pool through building confidence in and out of the water with games, songs, and instruction.

While in college, I volunteered for many organizations that allowed me to interact with children. I volunteered for the Special Olympics all four years of college where I assisted with various award ceremonies that allowed me to engage with the athletes. My sorority volunteered with local Girl Scout troops to mentor and promote higher education. I also volunteered with a program called Rays of Sunshine where we tutored children in Philadelphia in a government funded after-school program. I enjoy every opportunity to volunteer and work with children, as I find it very rewarding!

I moved to New York after graduating from Villanova University with a double major in economics and communication. Although I have taken a full-time role as a Business Analyst at a software company, I would still love to continue to work with children. I can’t wait to start my new experiences with SmartSitting!
