About me

I think growing up in New York City is one of the best things a person can experience. It teaches you so much culturally about all walks of life and half the time you're not even realizing it. I grew up in Manhattan and have lived here for the majority of my life. I love exploring the city and part of the reason I enjoy working with kids here is that we can continue to explore together. As someone who grew up in the city, I think I really connect with young kids here because their experiences are my own.

I have cared for infants to children all the way in their pre teens and I think every age is exciting in a different way. I love walking around with kids, going to museums, libraries, playgrounds, etc., but it is also always fun to venture out of the neighborhood and explore new parts of the city when appropriate. I enjoy keeping things fun, but always educational, healthy, safe and active.

I grew up in Manhattan, but I am originally from Peru. I am fluent in Spanish as well as conversational in Italian and I love passing along my knowledge of languages to whoever might be interested! I am an English as a Second Language Instructor and while I am not caring for your little ones, I teach children of all ages as well as adults. My father was German, so I have E.U. Citizenship along with my American and I love using it to be able to travel on my own or with families.

I have been vegan/vegetarian for the last 12 years, so I am also very comfortable with preparing health conscious meals and am well versed with allergies or dietary restrictions.

I look forward to meeting you!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I enjoy sharing my knowledge of language with children. I cared for a child who had bilingual parents in the past and I helped raise her with this ability. I enjoy teaching kids how to be active and healthy. I always enjoy going on long outdoor adventures with kids, things I have done in the past include taking the ferry to Governors Island or Rockaway Beach as well as hiking through Central Park. I also love cooking with children as long as parents permit it, I think it is a useful skill to learn. Eating healthy is important and I think kids really enjoy creating something they can eat and this way they can see what goes in to what they are consuming.
