About me

I grew up in Southeastern Massachusetts in a town called Somerset. As a kid, I was very active exploring and playing around my old neighborhood. I came up with all sorts of games to play with my friends, many of which included pretending to be the Beatles. This was foreshadowing of course as I would eventually go on to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition. After graduating I started working in music education and child care and I've been working in those fields ever since!

I have worked with kids in many different settings; as a music teacher, childcare worker, camp counselor, preschool teacher, substitute teacher, and even as a children’s entertainer. Through these different experiences I’ve worked with kids from all sorts of socio-economic backgrounds and age groups though I have mostly worked with young children (ages 2-5) and elementary ages. Along with teaching, I've done everything from helping change diapers and potty train to assisting children with meal-times, taking kids to the playground and on various other outings, administering First-Aid, etc. My work experience in both preschools and other educational settings have made me familiar with strategies for encouraging healthy emotional and social development which are so very important. In each of these settings I worked with kids who had moderate special needs, health conditions, allergies, and developmental issues.

Along with my experiences in child care I’m also an accomplished guitarist/composer and home cook who’s very interested in psychology. I try to have a sense of humor about everything and consider myself flexible and easy to work with. When it comes to children I always strive to be entertaining, energetic, and compassionate; if I can get each child I work with to smile and laugh, I’ve done my job.
