About me

I am originally from Charlotte, North Carolina where working in childcare was my very first job at the age of 13. I worked with multiple families in my neighborhood where I learned the ropes of caring for infants, school age children and young teenagers. I then attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where I majored in Theatre Arts. After graduating, I relocated to New York City in 2012 where I began my theatre career and have also enjoyed both regular and interim positions in childcare. I now reside in Astoria, Queens but am extremely familiar with Manhattan and Brooklyn and the various subways.

When working with children and their parents, I like to place an emphasis on open and active communication, as I find it extremely important to honor the tenants already put in place by the family and to ensure that the children feel relaxed and secure. As an artist myself, I also enjoy encouraging the exploration of creativity as it applies to both learning and play through arts and crafts, music, and any other endeavor the children might enjoy.

As of now, I have worked with children at all stages of development, and find true joy in forming lasting relationships with the families that welcome me into their lives. Getting the privilege of watching kids grow and explore their potential is a joyous and rewarding experience.
