About me

Hello!

My name is Anna and I am a 28 year-old experienced babysitter and nanny living in Brooklyn, New York. I am also an actor, with over twenty years of performance experience and ten years of teaching experience.I am a recent graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Manhattan, a two year accelerated and intensive program for actors.

I have taught theater, art, storytelling, improvisation, drama therapy, as well as all general studies at a preschool. I truly believe in using the arts education I've had when interacting with children--it really helps to understand them, and allow and encourage them to be creative, empathetic towards others, and find an excellent channel for their bountiful energy!

I have lived in a few cities over the course of my life--the DC area, Philadelphia, and New York. I have babysat or nannied in all three cities, caring for all ages--from infants to teenagers. I find such joy in spending time with babies and children. I love how they have zero inhibitions, are discovering the world around them, and are so playful and happy. I find that I learn more from spending time with children than they do from me. It is a gift to be around young kids who see the world with different eyes than we adults do.

I find that one of the most valuable experiences I've had with children was working with a non-profit called Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP), an organization dedicated to using the arts to empower underprivileged youth. I worked in association with the International Rescue Committee teaching young refugees social emotional learning techniques through storytelling. That experience completely shaped moving forward how I interact with children. I gained more empathy, understanding of young ones, and appreciation for different types of learners. I will never forget that experience!

I love babies and children of all ages, and would delighted to help your family out!
