About me

I'm a New York native (Washington Heights) and a recent college graduate who discovered my knack for childcare after working as a 4th and 5th grade after-school educator in the TriBeCa Jewish community. While leading engaging and inspiring programs for young learners, I realized my own abilities in communicating with kids.

I've since babysat for families on the Upper East Side, and I've translated the practices of good communication, providing engaging activities, and challenging kids intellectually into this work as well. If I can teach an idea to a child while I'm babysitting, it makes the work feel even more meaningful to me.

The family I've worked most regularly with lives on the Upper East Side. The family's three kids are a 4-year-old boy, a 7-year-old girl, and a 9-year-old boy. I've paid close attention to their interests and have developed good, communicative relationships with them beginning with those interests. Engaging with the kids via the things that interest them most helps to let them know that I see them as equals, and that their voices truly matter.

On a more logistical level, the three children had very dynamic after-school schedules, and I always stayed punctual, level-headed, and positive.

My own interests are in filmmaking, literature and comedy. When I'm working with children, I like to share good stories, discuss books, and play improv games. I set a strong example of what it looks like to be a good listener.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I enjoy teaching kids fun improv games and activities. I love to discuss stories and breaking down the big ideas behind them. I tutor English language topics and my most popular focus is introducing Shakespeare to kids as young as 8.
